SBBC was able to deliver 52 Samaritan Shoe Boxes to Loves Creek Church to deliver to the Charlotte headquarters.  Thank you to all who helped make this possible!

SBBC will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes this year.  The deadline to drop off filled boxes will be November 21st during Worship Service.  We will be having a blessing of the boxes on Sunday, November 21st during our regular worship service.

What is Operation Christmas Child?

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.  Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

What are the ages of children for the boxes?

You can make boxes for Girls or Boys age ranges are\2-4 years, 5-9 years, and 10-14 years old.

How much to make a shoebox?

It is suggested a $9 donation to cover the shipping and handling fee per box, plus the price of the items included in the box.

What can you put in a shoebox?

*A “WOW” item:  Doll, soccer ball (make sure to include a manual air pump to inflate so ball can be reflated), stuffed animal, a clothing outfit, small musical instrument (such as a harmonica or woodwind recorder).

 

*Personal Car Items:  Comb, hairbrush, toothbrush, washcloth, adhesive bandages, reusable plastic containers; cup, water bottle, plate, bowl, blunt-edged utensils (consider filling an empty container with non-liquid items such as hair bows, bracelets, sunglasses or washcloths to maximize space), blankets.

 

*Clothing & Accessories:  Shirts and pants, pillowcase dress (loose fitting sundress), underwear, shoes and socks, flip-flops, hart/scarf/   mittens, sunglasses, tote bag/purse, hair bows, friendship bracelets (woven with yarn or embroidery thread).

*Crafts & Activities: Pencils, small pencil sharpener, colored pencils, pencil case, crayons, markers, pens, coloring pads, coloring books, picture book, notebooks, glue sticks (do not include liquid glue), small adhesive tape, playdough, stickers, jump rope.

 

*Toys:  Foam ball, tennis ball, kickball (make sure to include a manual pump), kite, finger puppets, slinky, etch-a-sketch, play cars/trucks/boats, plastic tools, plastic dinosaurs.

 

*Personal Note:  You are encouraged to include a personal note in each shoebox gift to encourage the recipient child in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

What can NOT be included in the boxes?

Candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items; scary or war related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food items; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks, drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications   or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
